Firm told to pay Rs 25,000 for defective mobile

Ludhiana November 10District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum president GK Dhir and its member Jyotsna Thathai have ordered Gurugram-based Samsung Electronics to pay Rs 25,000 to a consumer in a case relating to defective mobile. The forum also ordered the company to pay Rs 4,000 for mental pain, harassment and Rs 4,000 as litigation expenses. Gurwinder Singh of New Janta Nagar, Gill Road, Ludhiana, had purchased a Samsung mobile handset by paying Rs 25,000 with warranty of one year. The warranty was extended on August 2, 2018, by paying Rs 2,030. But he was disclosed that motherboard of the mobile handset has to be installed and the same was not available from the company's side..
