Meanwhile, the police, under the supervision of Karanvir, Ahmedgarh DSP; Sukhdeep Singh, SHO, Ludhiana; and Sanjeev Kapoor, SHO, Sadar, continued organising flag marches. Cases were registered against ten persons for allegedly violating the SC orders. Sukhdeep Singh and Sanjeev Kapoor said suspects booked under these cases tried to produce an alibi that they were not present in the area when the concerned officials noticed fires in their fields. Cases were registered on the statements of designated officials of the Revenue Department, who had reported cases on the basis of physical verification and satellite links available with the department..
