Ludhiana: A surprise raid conducted by staff of the Central Jail here led to the seizure of six mobile phones from six jail inmates. Assistant jail superintendent Tarsem Pal Sharma said when belongings of the inmates were checked the mobile phones were seized. A probe would be initiated to inquire how they managed to get the mobile phones in the jail. Sources said after the recovery of the mobile phones the Jail Department had also initiated a separate probe to find out if any staff of the jail facilitated the entry of the phones into the jail.
