Summary:

Tushar Sharma, eldest of Sharma’s two sons, said his father had always inspired them to be brave. As he inspired the teams while leading from the front, he became Sub-Fire Officer around 12 years ago. Pointing out the tardy process of promotions in the Fire Department, he said: “Despite completing the course for the position, he became Sub-Fire Officer after 12 years. He was on the ground floor of the six-storey factory building, sourcing additional hoses to extinguish the fire, before the building collapsed, killing 13 persons, including Sharma. His was not a death, but martyrdom in service of the people,” said Tushar..
