Palaniswami on Monday inaugurated new facilities, set up at a cost of around ? 6 crore, at Government Rajaji Hospital here through videoconference. The facilities included a new catheterisation lab (Cath lab), a new 16-slice CT scanner equipment, a District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), a new Toxicology Ward and a facility for the Medical Records Department. Stating that the new Toxicology Ward would have at least 12 beds, he said that the beds would be equipped with central oxygen supply, ventilator and monitoring equipment.
