The police said the 17-year-old Plus Two student took the girl to his house at Anna Nagar in Alangulam on Monday and sexually assaulted her. After interrogation, the police arrested the boy on Tuesday night under the provisions of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and lodged him in the juvenile observation home here. As the boy’s neighbours who came to his house at that time noticed this, they alerted others.
