HC stays removal of advocates’ names from rolls

more-inMADURAIThe Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday granted a stay against the removal of names of three advocates from the rolls of Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It was alleged that the advocates and the law student from Dindigul were indulging in illegal activities, including conducting kangaroo courts, extortion and arm twisting innocent people. They were accused of taking possession of a property and putting up an advocate’s office by arm twisting the owner. However, appealing against the order, they claimed that a false case was foisted against them. They said that they were not given an opportunity to be heard in the case..
