The Special Judge M.Chenkamalaselvam of the Special Court trying cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act sentenced VAO Ramiah to two years rigorous imprisonment and fined him ? 2000. However, Ramiah is said to have asked Markandeyan to pay him ?2000 as bribe in order to transfer the document.
