Similarly, a bride from Tamil Nadu did something different in her marriage.

Nisha from Thoothukudi district performed `Silambattam`, a form of martial art from Tamil Nadu, in front of everyone soon after her marriage on June 28 to spread awareness about the importance of self-defence.

It can be seen in the video that Nisha is performing martial arts with great bravery.

The people present there are whistling and clapping on seeing him.

To raise awareness among women about the need for self-defence, Tamil Nadu bride P Nisha used sticks and weapons to perform a set of martial arts.

Wearing a silk sari, Nisha took to her arms to perform `Surul Val Veechu` besides performing `Rettai Kambu` with Silambam sticks in front of a marriage hall in Thirukoloor village of Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu.

While talking to a news agency, Nisha said "I started doing traditional martial arts in front of the villagers immediately after marriage so that women could become aware of the importance of self-defence.

She further told that I have been learning for the last three years.
