MANGALURU: A personnel of the City Crime Bureau(CCB) of the Mangaluru City police has been suspended after the team investigating a honey trap case named him in its preliminary report.T R Suresh, city police chief, said the suspension of Ganesh, 45, a head constable, was based on a report submitted by Rajendra, ACP, Mangaluru North under the direction of Uma Prashanth , DCP (Crime and Traffic).The case pertains to honey-trapping a retired government officer. Three men barged into the house and shot a video of him and the woman naked. Though the incident took place on March, it came to light only recently.On March 20, a 71-year-old retired PWD officer had availed “massage” service at his house in Maryhill. They demanded Rs 10 lakh if he wanted to keep the case confidential.Without giving a second thought, the officer handed them over Rs 3 lakh.Three days later, police from Kavoor station took cognisance of the matter and gathered details from the officer after which they filed a case..
