Mescom developing integrated app for grievances redressal, bill payments

At present, Mescom consumers can pay their bills online through the company’s portal, but end up paying a bank transaction fee. Mangaluru: Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd has initiated steps to roll out an app that will serve as an integrated platform for consumer grievances redressal as well as a one-stop payment solution for its consumers. Transactions done through e-wallets and BHIM do not end up putting additional burden on customers. At present, Mescom consumers can pay their bill on limited e-wallet platforms – Paytm and PhonePe being two of them—compared to others electricity supply companies (escoms) in the state.Interestingly, other escoms like Bescom, Chesc, Hescom and Gescom are already present on popular e-wallet platforms such as PhonePe, Amazon Pay and MobiKwik, and are actively wooing customers with various customer-centric offers. The proposed app will also facilitate consumers to keep track of their payments – past and for which bills have been generated, she said, adding they could make their payments using the same.Keeping in line with the Union government’s thrust for a less cash economy, Snehal said the company will also come up with a UPI id that will facilitate consumers wanting to pay their bills using BHIM App..
