Mangaluru: Industrialist, poet, writer , translator and pioneer in Beary literary revolution, Abdul Raheem T K, died after brief illness at his residence in the city on Friday. A large number of articles, poems, stories and features were written by him, which were published in several publications.He was born in Jokatte to Bava Abdul Khader and Salma Abdul Khader, and later brought up in Bajpe. He was instrumental in organising the first and historic Beary Literary Convention held at the Town Hall in the city in 1998. He led the second Beary Literary meet held at Bantwal in 1999 and the third meet in Udupi.Raheem translated ‘The Alchemist’ of Paulo Coelho into Kannada with the title ‘Rasavaadi’, with the permission of the author. He was 65.Raheem was a writer with concern towards society..
