MANGALURU: The renovated swimming pool of the Manglauru City Corporation (MCC) will be opened on Saturday.The installation of an ozonisation plant for MCC’s Mangala swimming pool in the city has been completed and all other peripheral development works have been taken up. The new ozonisation plant has been installed at a cost of Rs 98 lakh at the pool, the city’s only public swimming pool owned by the city corporation. Mayor K Bhaskar Moily said, “The renovation work is over and we will dedicate the pool for the public on Saturday.”The new ozonisation plant was set up on 25 cents vacant land adjacent to the swimming pool. An old filter plant, which was filtering water for the pool, has been dismantled and the new ozonisation plant is functional. With the new ozonisation plant, water needs to be replaced once in two or three years, the mayor said.The contract to install ozonisation plant was handed over to Walrus Pools & Fitness Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based agency..
