After govt buildings, buses, now UP toll plaza painted saffron

Muzaffarnagar: A toll plaza on the Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur highway was painted saffron on the lines of government buildings and buses which got a saffron makeover after the Yogi Aditanath government took over charge in the state in 2017. The list of toll rates for vehicles has been put up, and the plaza will be open for vehicles after the state government send the notification required, said plaza officials. Construction work on the Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur highway is at its final stage. In January, a boundary wall of the Uttar Pradesh Haj office in Lucknow was painted in that colour.Plaza manager Hitender Singh told TOI, “The toll plaza was designed by an architect and saffron colour was a part of the design.”Situated on the Saharanpur-Muzaffarnagar district border, the plaza is expected to begin functioning very soon. Officials at the newly-built plaza in Rohna Khurd area here said that the colour was specified in the construction layout of the structure.Painting government property saffron is not new in the state, with several instances coming to light over this year..
