UP: RTO faces backlog of 7,000 registration certificates due to shortage of printed paper

MEERUT: Meerut regional transport officer is facing a backlog of 7,000 registration certificates (RCs), due to shortage of printed paper for the purpose for the past three months. “The state government authorities are likely to solve this problem soon, and then the RC system will be back on track,” said Kumar. Now, the paper has been procured but it will take some time before the backlog is cleared. We can do nothing but wait for the paper,” said Vijay Kumar, Meerut regional transport officer.The RTO has been short of paper for the certificate for nearly last three months now. The problem is the same across the state because the company, which has been given the tender to provide the paper, is delaying the printing of the paper..
