UP: Kendriya Vidyalaya painted saffron, school says no political agenda

MEERUT: After government buildings, state transport and toll plazas, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bulandshahr was the latest to be painted saffron . In January this year, the boundary wall of the Haj house in Lucknow, used by Muslims as a transit point on their way to Mecca pilgrimage, was painted saffron. After its choice of colour for renovation landed the school in controversy, authorities insisted people were unnecessarily making the issue political. The school administration, however, claimed that it was part of a renovation process and there was no political agenda behind it.The school, near Numaish grounds, was given a fresh coat of off-white, highlighted by thick stripes of saffron.
