Meerut health department to conduct two-day training of docs on malaria tests

MEERUT: With a peak in monsoon activity, the Meerut health department is all set to conduct a two-day training of doctors in testing blood-slides to check for malaria . We have decided to hold a two-day workshop of the health employees. The workshop will be conducted at the LLRM Medical College from 10am to 5pm,” read a letter issued by the Meerut chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Raj Kumar Chaudhary.It was addressed to the additional chief medical officer (Meerut), in-charges of health centres and the district malaria officer. It should be noted that there are a total of 15 lab assistants and technicians for its malaria department. As many as 70 people will be given the training, said officials.Yogesh Saraswat, Meerut district malaria officer, said, “The training is a must because many employees are not confident to conduct malaria tests.”“It is necessary that all employees responsible for taking blood slides and testing them attend the workshop without fail or they will face action,” said Dr Chaudhary..
