12 booked, four arrested after clash in communally sensitive Muzaffarnagar village

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Communally sensitive Purbaliyan village of Muzaffarnagar was on the edge on Saturday after a clash between people of two different faiths, while police booked 14 people and arrested four of them for their alleged involvement in the violence.Several contingents of police force and PAC were also rushed to the village to maintain peace in the area where initial clash had erupted on August 21 during a volleyball match. Youth of two different communities got involved in an argument during the match. Later, a case was registered against 12 people of the minority community at Mansoopur police station.But, no arrest was made as prominent people from both the communities intervened and promised to settle the matter once for all.But on Friday, people of the minority community alleged that a member of their group was thrashed..
