Meerut: In an attempt to instill good driving etiquettes, Meerut traffic police is planning to install ‘tyre-killers’ on some busy stretches to puncture the tyres of vehicles driven on the wrong side. Officials said that before the installation, they will ensure that commuters are made aware about spike barriers.“Seeing how wrong side driving leads to traffic congestion in different parts of Meerut, we have decided to get spike barriers,” said Meerut SP (traffic) Sanjeev Bajpai. “We are in the process of finalizing the project and ‘tyre-killers’ will reach us by next month. “We welcome the traffic police’s decision as it will provide great relief to scores of daily commuters like me,” said Puneet Sharma, a resident of PL Sharma road.
