Two bike lifter gangs busted, three held

MUZAFFARNAGAR: It was a bad day for bike-lifters as cops busted two separate bike-lifter gangs on Friday.In the first incident, a bike lifter gang was busted by Meerut's Sadar Baazar police and 12 two-wheelers were recovered from them. Rahul, the leader of the gang was arrested.SSP Muzaffarnagar Sudhir Kumar said, "Arrested criminals were involved in this for a long time and used to steal bikes from other many districts. Two members of the gang — Anil and Teetu — both accused of lifting bikes in Meerut, Ghaziabad, and Delhi were held.In yet another incident in Muzaffarnagar , the local Meerapur police busted another such gang and recovered eight motorcycles from them. Arrested criminals have a number of criminals cases filed against them,” SP also added.Earlier, Muzaffarnagar's Meeraour police busted and arrested a criminal who used to steal bikes, for his pocket money.It is worth mentioning here that on October 18, Muzaffarnagar police had busted a bike lifter gang which used to take orders from 'customers' and steal bikes based on their preferences.After the bike was stolen, the gang would forge documents of the bike and deliver it to the customer.Apart from the gang members, police had also arrested four such customers who had bought bikes from the gang.As many as 14 stolen bikes were recovered from their possession..
