South east Meerut most susceptible to dengue in dist: Health dept

Health camps are being organized in areas where dengue patients live by the health unit of block community health centres and urban primary health centres. So far, 109 cases of dengue have come up in Meerut. The district malaria officer is carrying out daily fogging and anti-larval survey in urban and rural parts of Meerut. The said stagnant water that collects in these spots prove to be ideal ground for mosquito breeding.In his letter to the district magistrate, chief medical officer, Dr Raj Kumar Chaudhary, said, “In 2015, 362 dengue cases were reported in Meerut district; in 2016, 195 dengue cases and 1,118 chikungunya cases were reported, and in 2017, 660 cases were reported from Meerut. Meerut: In an analysis done by the health department on the basis of the statistics of positive cases of dengue in 2018 in Meerut district, it has come to fore that south eastern part of the city is most susceptible to the mosquito-borne disease.Some of the most affected areas this year are Medical College, Jail chungi, Jagriti Vihar, Shastri Nagar, Arya Nagar, Alampur, Sarai Qazi, Sardhana and Hasanpur..
