Meerut: As many as 261 UP government schools across 24 districts of the state did not provide midday meals to their students for three months. Details to the effect were submitted by the state districts on the midday meal scheme website. Taking a stern stand against the issue, state education department has issued instructions to basic shiksha adhikaris (BSA) concerned that they either resume distribution of midday meals at these schools or face action.“This is to bring to your notice that it has come to our fore from the midday meal scheme website that as many as 261 schools did not distribute midday meals to its students for three months.
