Cong fields ex-MP Pravin Singh Aron from Bareilly

Gangwar was an MP from 1989 onwards for six consecutive terms, but he faced defeat in 2009 when Aron won with a margin of 9,338 votes. In 2009, cricketer-turned-politician Mohammad Azharuddin had won Moradabad seat on a Congress ticket after 25 years. However, Aron lost to Gangwar who secured 5.18 lakh votes in 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Bareilly: Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress has fielded former MP Pravin Singh Aron from Bareilly.Aron had become first-time MP in 2009 after he had defeated BJP’s Santosh Gangwar who is currently sitting MP from Bareilly and Union minister of state for labour and employment. Samajwadi Party is yet to announce their SP-BSP-RLD alliance candidate from Bareilly while Shivpal Yadav’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) has fielded Saman Tahir from here..
