Lok Sabha elections: Kairana drubbing still hurts, BJP finally drops Mriganka

"Chaudhary, a farmer leader and a resident of Dudhla village of Saharanpur, won the by-election in 2000 from Nakur, another assembly constituency in Kairana, on an RLD ticket. In 2007, Chaudhary joined the Samajwadi Party and then in 2012, he won Gangoh assembly seat on a Congress ticket and finally joined the BJP in August 2016 to win Gangoh once again in 2017 UP assembly polls as a BJP candidate. With the announcement of Saturday's list, the BJP has declared all its candidates for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections in the state, voting for which will be held on April 11. MEERUT: Smarting under the 2018 by-election defeat at the hands of the RLD candidate Tabassum Hasan who won the Kairana Lok Sabha seat by a comfortable margin of over 44,000 votes, BJP has dropped former MP Hukum Singh's daughter Mriganka Singh from its list. "Pradeep Choudhary is the sitting BJP MLA from Gangoh assembly constituency, which falls in Saharanpur district but comes under the Kairana parliamentary constituency," Uttar Pradesh BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in Lucknow.Along with the Kairana decision, the BJP re-nominated Bhola Singh from Bulandshahr (SC) constituency and Yashwant Singh from Nagina (SC) seat..
