UP releases Rs 98cr to electrify 46k schools-cum-polling stns

A sum of Rs 15,000 will be released to each school for installing electrical wiring and Rs 6,000 for tubelights and fans. For this purpose, a total sum of Rs 98.66 crore has been approved,” read the letter issued by Anand Kumar Singh, UP special secretary. Meerut: Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Rs 98.66 crore has been released to complete electrification of 46,981 state government schools across UP. The letter was issued to UP education director (basic).Giving details, Singh’s letter stated, “Out of the total amount, Rs 70.47 crore has to be used for electrical wiring such that Rs 15,000 per school is utilized.
