MEERUT: Under the newly launched SHARDA (School Har Din Aayein) initiative of UP education department, the authorities have found that as many as 88 ,423 children are out-of-school students. Out-of-school students refer to those who either never joined school or dropped out of school. Out-of-school students refer to those who have never been admitted to school or despite being enrolled, have not attended class for 45 days at a go. With 59,417 students aged six years, the maximum number of children is of the said age.
