88,423 kids in state out-of-school students, finds Uttar Pradesh education department

MEERUT: Under the newly launched SHARDA (School Har Din Aayein) initiative of UP education department, the authorities have found that as many as 88 ,423 children are out-of-school students. Out-of-school students refer to those who either never joined school or dropped out of school. Out-of-school students refer to those who have never been admitted to school or despite being enrolled, have not attended class for 45 days at a go. With 59,417 students aged six years, the maximum number of children is of the said age. These children are in the age group of 6-14 years and have been identified from February 1 onwards.“According to the data provided by all the districts until March 24, there are a total of 88,423 out of school children – which includes 47,805 boys and 43,083 girls..
