Meerut health department issues heat-wave related advisory

MEERUT: With the Meteorological department predicting rise in temperatures, the Meerut health department has issued health advisory related to heat wave . The health department officials have issued Dos and Don’ts to be followed and instructed to take special care of high risk community that includes labourers working in high-heat areas like kilns. Pregnant women and toddlers should be taken care of.“Instructions have been given to identify the high risk groups like vegetable sellers ice cream sellers, auto drivers, labourers, police officials and others,” read the health advisory.The health department has further listed sunburn, heat cramps, heat exhaustion as the few symptoms of heat wave. Precautions and symptoms have also been listed by the officials.“In order to spread awareness about heat wave, an advisory has been issued to ensure that it doesn’t lead to any diseases like fever , dehydration, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. The maximum and minimum humidity levels recorded here were 67% and 37% respectively..
