SP-BSP alliance installs its own `chowkidars` outside the strongroom

EVM has been one of the most discussed thing in Lok Sabha election and continues to be the source of major political controversies in the country.

Amid reports of EVM being transferred that surfaced on social media, the workers of UP alliance are stationed outside all the strongrooms  of the state and they are keeping a close eye on the activities around it.

In one such situation, two tents have been built outside the Katai Mill in Meerut`s Partapur area where supporters are guarding strong room in three shifts of eight hours each with binoculars in hand.

“We set up our camp on the evening of April 11, hours after polling ended.

We have been on vigil here since then,” Subash Pradhan, BSP district president Meerut told TOI.

“The main group comprises of 18 Mahagathbandhan supporters from all the three parties.

They have been issued passes and can go up to the barricades close to the EVM strongroom,” he added.

The tent is equipped with the mattress to rest and a cooler.

Some of the supporters have the job of monitoring the CCTV feed coming from the outside area of the strong room with monitors installed in the tent.

Besides all this, binoculars are also used to keep the close eye on the activities near the strongroom and report to their senior leaders in case of any suspicious movement.

“The tent is approximately 200m away from the strongroom.
