East Meerut most susceptible to dengue, finds health dept analysis

Meerut: A heath department analysis of dengue cases in Meerut district in the past two years has revealed that the eastern part of the district is more susceptible to the mosquito-borne disease. Health camps in areas where dengue patients have been found are being organized by the health unit of block community health centres and urban primary health centres. Following the analysis, senior health officials have written to the district magistrate emphasizing on the need for better coordination between government departments to check the outbreak of dengue and chikungunya in Meerut. So far, 54 cases of dengue have been reported from the district.According to the analysis based on dengue cases in 2015 and 2016, a copy of which is with TOI, the maximum number of cases in both years has been reported from east Meerut.
