State government to apply block chain technology for land records

In a serious bid to further improve ease of doing business, the state government will soon apply block chain technology for maintaining land records across the Maharashtra. The announcement in this regard was made by the state information technology SVR Srinivas at the Magnetic Maharashtra Summit on Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the country’s first public entity to use blockchain-enabled security for land records. The government said no one can tamper with the database as the credentials of users will be authenticated and later they will be allowed to access the records. The government will also ask the district authorities to hold meetings of Maharashtra Industry Trade & Investment Facilitation Cell, which is an initiative to facilitate domestic as well as international (cross-border) Investors to submit regulatory documents at a single location and/or single entity..
