Barricade kills Mumbai motorcyclist, cops book contractor for not placing warning sign

A 51-year-old man died when he rode his bike into a barricade put up by a private contractor without any warning sign opposite Gandhi Market in King’s Circle on Friday. His brother, Anis, lodged a police complaint against the contractor on Sunday. “The contractor while carrying out the work had put up barricades and did not bother to put any sign or warning board alerting the motorists, and due to his negligence somebody’s life is gone,” senior inspector Laad of the Sion police station said. A case of negligence was registered against the contractor, who was repairing roads for the BMC , after the death of Mohammed Rafi Vasi Ansari from Madanpura in south Mumbai.Ansari is survived by his wife and two adult children..
