Modak Sagar overflows, 57% of seven lakes' capacity filled

The Modak Sagar lake overflowed on Sunday afternoon after catchment area of the lake received heavy rainfall in the last one week. The lake overflowed around 3.05 pm, taking usable content in all seven lakes of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to 57 per cent of their total capacity. This year so far, city has already received 1600 mm rainfall. As per the water hydraulic department, so far, the catchment area has received less water than last year. However, the present level of water in all lakes are around 6% less than last year..
