Elphinstone Road stn to be Prabhadevi from 19th

MUMBAI: Western Railway’s Elphinstone Road station will be called as Prabhadevi from July 19, almost a year after the nod was given by the central government.The station, with two platforms, caters to slow line services on the WR’s suburban section. It wants Grant Road renamed as August Kranti station, Dadar as Chaityabhoomi and Charni Road as Gamdevi.The state had named Mumbai's newest railway station as 'Ram Mandir' in November 2016 .The station has come up between Goregaon and Jogeshwari. The station code for Prabhadevi will be PBHD. It was named in honour of Lord Elphinstone who was the governor of Bombay from 1853 to 180.Prabhadevi is the name of the area in the vicinity of the station. Necessary changes are being made on station boards, indicators, PA system etc..
