Parts of Mumbai witnesses significant rains

MUMBAI: The city witnessed some significant rain activity on the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Especially parts of the island city like Dadar Worli and Wadala have recorded over 50 mm rains between 3 am-5 am as per observations of the automatic weather stations.Weathermen from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai said that the showers were owing to a weather system in the Bay of Bengal which had developed into a well marked low pressure area.Officials said that moderate rains will continue over city and suburbs for next two days however the weekend is likely to witness further increase in rain activity..
