Five rescued at Girgaum beach during Ganesh idol immersion

Hundreds of devotees thronged Girgaum beach this morning to catch a final glimpse of the idol before it is immersed. The five were going in a boat for the immersion of Lalbaugcha Raja when their boat capsized. On Monday morning till 6 a.m., a total of 41,780 Ganesh idols were immersed at various locations in Mumbai. We used the standard protocol wherein one jet-ski and boat were taken right up to the spot on either side..
