Three-fold rise in tankers supplying water in State

more-inThe number of tankers supplying water in the State has gone up more than three times compared to last year, with a fall in water storage levels in dams. According to data from the State Water Supply and Sanitation Department, 329 tankers were supplying water to villages and hamlets across the State as of Monday. Marathwada and Nashik divisions account for a whopping 300 of these, with as many as 182 tankers supplying water to 171 villages in Marathwada and 118 tankers being deployed to 480 villages in Nashik division. Marathwada recorded water storage of only 27.59% of the total dam capacity on Wednesday, compared to 65.24% on October 3, 2017.
