MUMBAI: Colaba 's iconic Metro House, where a massive blaze broke out in June 2016, has again run into trouble with BMC. When contacted, Rafiq Malik, director of Metro House Private Ltd, said he was unaware of the demolition.On June 2, 2016, a massive fire broke out in the crowded building on Colaba Causeway . There were no fire fighting equipment in the building despite it being used for commercial purpose. "We immediately directed them to stop the work," he said. On Wednesday, civic authorities demolished unauthorized constructions in the century-old building which houses some prominent eateries and shopping brands.This is the second time that BMC has found repair works being carried out in the structure without permissions following the fire..
