MHADA seeks its Rs 70 crore share from BMC

Shiv Sena leader and chairman of the Mumbai Repair and Reconstruction Board of MHADA Vinod Ghosalkar has written to the mayor and the municipal commissioner asking the BMC to give Rs 70 crore to the board. "As per section 97 of MHADA Act, every year MHADA is to get Rs 10 crore, but from 2012 till now the money hasn't been received," read the letter. According to the letter written by Ghosalkar, according to the MHADA Act of 1976, there's a section under which MHADA is to get Rs 10 crore every year from the BMC for the cessed building. The reason behind the demand was cited that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is supposed to give Rs 10 crore every year to MHADA's Repair Board for the cessed building.
