Cab shortage, jams in south Mumbai likely today

"During the last strike, our driver partners were assaulted and cabs damaged. The last time, the drivers partners were off roads from October 22 to November 2 and the strike was called off after state transport minister Diwakar Raote intervened. “We have appealed to maximum drivers to stay on the app platform and ferry commuters on Monday,'' said an official. This will not be tolerated this time,'' he said. Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amitesh Kumar said adequate deployment of personnel will be put to regulate the traffic movement and the protest will not create any problem.Several Ola and Uber cabs were off roads from Sunday morning, and those plying in some areas were available at as high as two times the usual fares..
