Fake ticket checker held, cites job loss for crime

MUMBAI: A 68-year-old man was arrested for posing as a ticket checker and knocking off money from a passenger in a local train at Andheri recently. Minat got suspicious and alerted policemen on the platform.They made inquiries with Mehta and took him into custody on realizing that he wasn’t a genuine ticket checker. Arvind Mehta, the accused, told the GRP that he took to crime after losing his job and his son’s refusal to maintain him. Mehta used to work in a company which shut down, leaving him with no source of income,” said a police officer.
