Mumbai: Charkop locals campaign to get dog owners to scoop the poop

Mumbai | Friday | 15th February, 2019

Summary:

"We request the pet owners to carry a scooper and clean the poop but many fights with us," he said. According to local activist and resident of Sector 8, Mili Shetty, the 90 feet road in their area was the worst affected and was littered with dog poop. "Being a wide and long stretch, this road attracts several pet owners not only from here but even from neighbouring localities to walk their dogs in the morning. The BMC staff also hands them a pamphlet explaining the rules," said Shetty adding that soon the same initiative will be carried out in other sectors of Charkop as well. Between 6.30am to 9 am along with BMC staff we meet and speak with the dog owners, requesting them to pick up the poop so that they can help us in keeping the neighbourhood clean..
