Dry days ahead as Mumbai's water stocks down to 42%

Mumbai | Monday | 18th February, 2019

Summary:

Even after implementing a 10 per cent water cut across the city, water stock in Mumbai's lakes is down to 42 per cent. Mumbai continues to pay the price for a poor monsoon, with depleting water stocks proving to be a matter of critical concern. All of which means the possibility of more water cuts in the coming months is very real. However, as of October 1, 2018, the lakes only had 93 per cent water, forcing the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to declare a 10 per cent water cut. The water stocks are still dipping compared to last year..
