Today, the war veteran lives his life independently with utmost optimism and acceptance. He says, “I am among the first in the Limb Centre to get prosthetic legs without straps and a belt. Hailing from Panchgrami Pabra, Hissar, Haryana, Kayyat began his life as a gunner in 1889 Light Regiment in the Indian Army. I can ride my scooter and play football with the help of my prosthetics.”Kayyat often visits soldiers undergoing treatment in the Artificial Limb Centre. He was admitted in the Artificial Limb Centre, Pune, for three years and completed a computer course in The Queen Mary’s Technical Institute, Pune during the course of his treatment..
