Driver held for Rs 1.6 lakh theft at ex-judge's flat

MUMBAI: Five days after a theft took place at the Khar home of retired judge Abhay Thipsay, the family driver was arrested on Thursday for allegedly stealing Rs 1.60 lakh from the safe, said officials of Khar police station. Thipsay's son, Ashutosh, an advocate, caught Nandu red-handed, the police said.Sources said that the judge and his wife were in Bhopal and were to return on Wednesday. Ashutosh had told the driver to pick his parents up from the airport around 6pm as he would be in court and the driver was to fetch the car keys from a relative's house as nobody would be at home..
