CR to dismantle 5 Mum foot overbridges by Apr 30

MUMBAI: Central Railway has advanced the demolition time-line for five 'dangerous' foot over bridges (FOB) by two months from the earlier deadline of June 30.The railways have taken this decision upon the recommendation of an audit by experts from IIT-Bombay. The authorities claim none of the structures required ``immediate demolition'', and insisted that the imminent dismantling of FOBs was not triggered by Thursday's CSMT collapse. CR has targeted to complete this task by March 31.On WR, a total of 144 overhead structures, including 115 FOBs and 29 road over bridges (ROBs) have been audited.
