Mumbai: 9 old FOBs on Central Railway route to be demolished

Giving the Mumbai train commuters another piece of bad news, the Central Railway on Saturday said they're demolished the old foot over bridges (FOBs) in at least 9 railway stations. According to sources in the Central Railway, the FOBs listed for dismantling are in Diva, Kurla Kasaiwada, Bhandup, Mulund, Govandi, Vidyavihar, Vikhroli, Tilaknagar and Wadala stations. "These FOBs have become old and have been identified for immediate shut down. It seems the railway authorities have got cold feet after the stampede at Elphinstone Road and two back-to-back bridges collapse at Andheri and CSMT. As of now, the CR have called for tenders for dismantling these 9 FOBs at a cost of around Rs 3.69 crore..
