Many times availability of a ventilator support system in major public hospitals is more than impossible. Response to RTI plea filed by activist Chetan Kothari revealed that out of the 32 non-functional ventilators, five are for the emergency medical service ward. All five ventilators were reported to be non-functional between January to June this year due to non-functional flow sensor. They have a lot of patients waiting to get a bed with ventilator support. According to the response given by hospital authority to the RTI, they are in the process to start the non-functional ventilators soon..
