Mumbai: Heavy rainfall and flood increased leptospirosis cases in September

According to the BMC's public health department monsoon report, more number of malaria, leptospirosis cases are reported in the month of September this year in comparison to last year. Around 666 malaria cases and 55 leptospirosis cases were reported in September this year. As per the report, two deaths due to leptospirosis were reported in the second and third week of the month. Last year, 625 malaria cases and 27 leptospirosis cases were reported in September.
