One year after Ayushman Bharat scheme was launched in the state, health activist in urban and rural areas states that not many citizens are aware about the scheme. There is a lack of awareness among the general public about its eligibility and approach towards the scheme. The Ayushman Bharat Scheme was launched last year on September 23. But it was just the 27 per cent who were aware of the government's health insurance schemes, some 46 per cent were aware of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Aarogya Yojana, while 78 per cent knew of Ayushman Bharat Scheme, and 45 per cent were aware of Rashtriya Shwastiya Bima Yojana. As per the survey, around 1/4th of the population in the city is aware about it and has availed the benefits of the scheme.".
