Maharashtra records highest one-day spike of COVID-19 cases, reprots 2,940 patients, 63 deaths

In its highest one-day spike so far, Maharashtra on Friday recorded 2,940 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall tally of positive patients in the state to 44,582. With 63 COVID-19 patients dying, the death toll in the state reached 1,517. The total number of persons discharged from hospitals has also risen to 12,583 while active cases remain 30,482. The highest number of cases have been recorded in state capital Mumbai where 34,107 positive cases and 1,027 deaths have been confirmed so far.
